Freshman Year
Become familiar with college entrance requirements.
Create a four-year high school curriculum plan to satisfy your goals.
Sophomore Year
Take the PLAN test in the fall.
Schedule courses that follow the college prep guidelines.
Attend the Career Planning Workshop to be conducted in sophomore English classes.
Junior year
Attend College Planning Sessions for students.
Have parents attend College Information Night.
Have parents attend the Financial Aid Workshop in January.
Take the ACT and SAT in the spring.
Begin making spring college visits to the schools that are of interest to you.
Senior year
Send for and complete college applications.
Sign up for a Senior College Planning Refresher Seminar.
Register for and take the October & November ACT and SAT.
Have parents attend the College Information Night - Senior Edition.
Attend area college fairs and meet with college reps at school.
Visit colleges that you are considering.
Request recommendations if required by colleges. Don't forget to send thank you notes.
Attend the Financial Aid Workshop for Parents.
Complete FAFSA and mail as soon after January 1 as possible.
Complete scholarship applications.
Take AP exams, if applicable.
