Sophomore Year Timeline.

September

Check your schedule to make sure that all of your academic and elective classes are scheduled.

OGT seminars and tutoring begins to prepare students for the March tests.

Become involved in at least two extra-curricular activities this school year.

October

Guidance Counselors will meet with sophomore English classes to distribute PLAN (the practice ACT) test information.

Register to take the PLAN test with your Guidance Counselor.

November

Take the PLAN test.

December

Come to PLAN test interpretation session.

January

OGT seminar binders will be distributed for students to take home.

Take ASVAB (a vocational aptitude battery to be used for career
planning in the Spring) to be administered during the school day.

February

Meet with Guidance Counselor to schedule classes for junior year.

March

Career Planning Workshop to be conducted in sophomore English classes.

ASVAB test interpretation.

OGT testing for all sophomores.

April-May

Continue to focus on classes and activities.

Remember, in June you will be half way through high school.

June

Begin to plan your summer. Colleges will be interested in how you plan this time
