DISTRICT FINALS -- Advancing to regionals is one of the main goals of competing at the district competitions. Along with this comes the opportunity for growth individually, as well as a team. While the Lady Longhorns did not place in many events at the district competition at Norwayne, one of the ladies advanced to regionals.
   
Senior Sara h Gettinger ran the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.9 seconds, which qualified her for regionals next week. Sara h was recently chosen as the Longhorn Female Athlete of the Year. Gettinger has consistently made contributions to the team throughout the season. The 4x200 relay, which Gettinger was also a member of, finished in fifth place. Coach Joe King commented, “ Sara h has been a great competitor for us in soccer and basketball. Her effort and desire were great at districts. We are proud of her success."

Gettinger will be competing at regionals on Thursday, May 27, at 4:30 PM.
