REGIONAL PRELIMS -- Senior Sarah Gettinger finished her track season in fine style, placing fourteenth in the Girl’s 100 Meter Hurdles in the Division II Regional at Ravenna High School yesterday afternoon.  Gettinger, who ran a 16.90 in districts to qualify in the third spot, finished ahead of Mara Gordon of Keystone—whom she beat at districts—and Rachelle Eye of Wellington—whom she lost to by 0.34 seconds in districts and 0.30 seconds in the conference meet.

Yesterday Gettinger posted a 16.98.  In order to qualify for the finals on Saturday, she would have needed to run faster than 16.00.

Gettinger was the first runner to qualify for regionals since 2007 when Sarah Jackson (class of 2008) qualified in the 100 meter hurdles as well.

Last year in districts Gettinger finished seventh with a time of 17.79.
